Unauthorized transactions that was Declined but authorized by your Sales Person by the name North

Im disappointed with this Sales Person by the name North who automatically updated my account with out my permission, I have been trying to get in touch with him but no luck yet since Early March of this year. I tried to make a payment which didnt feel right, so decided to stop my automatic payments: No response from AFFIRM either.

About a week after I submitted this report, they contacted me and said they were working on it.Yet, as of today, 5/20/2025, they have ghosted me and again left me hanging.Absolutely horrible! Despicable. On the borderline of illegal, in my personal opinion.Stay away unless you are ok with the risks of not having ANY support when a retailer rips you off!

Dont get lured in by promises only to find yourself stuck when something goes wrong, left with nothing but their AI and automated responses.
Ive had enough of Temu and their subpar products. I recently dealt with a product that was nothing short of a complete disaster.

Take a look at the attached photos clearly, its junk!
Neither Temu nor the merchant offered any assistance. Its important to note that I had the product for about 1.5 to 2.0 months, which means I was beyond Temus return window.
So, I decided to turn to Affirm for help. Ive never asked them for anything before, despite having taken out over $30,000 in loans with them. I thought they might be willing to assist me this time.

I was sorely mistaken.
After filing a dispute with Affirm about the quality issue and the merchants refusal to provide a refund or replacement parts, I waited 90 days for a response.
What did I get? A determination claiming that the merchant stated the product was delivered by FedEx, and therefore, my dispute was denied.
This is not the issue! I never argued that I didnt receive the item!
Their disconnection from reality and basic comprehension is astonishing.
To add insult to injury, when I reached out to address their inadequate resolution, I was met with a robotic response that showed zero concern. I was told to file another dispute.

Can you believe this?!
The only way we can combat this utter disregard is to stop purchasing their products and using their services.
Im done with AI-driven companies like Affirm and Temu.

It seems Amazon is heading down the same path. I wont support them any longer, and neither should you.
In closing, let me be very clear: Affirm, Temu, Amazon you're all FIRED!

I have a >830 FICO score and all bills are paid within one billing cycle; they asked for a copy of my U.S. passport, cellphone texts received, took my photo with my computer to verify the image on my passport, and still I was denied.

I have never been denied before - ever; but these poorly trained staff, who evidently couldn't understand what I was explaining to them, left me levied.

I've been punished for having a freeze on my credit, which I did unfreeze for them to run my credit and, of course, they screwed that up as well. Despite my demands to speak with a supervisor, my requests were ignored by rude personnel.

Previous complaints about cheap flooring by you are not indicative of an 830 or any score. With an 830, you have the gold standard mix of traditional loans( mortgage or auto) and revolving (lines of credit or credit cards).

An 830 is low/no balance on revolving credit and a lot of available credit. Which with an 830 have the best offered interest rates. Why all the rage at an Affirm denial when you have options in place?

Use your low interest credit, unless you are not being honest. And btw, a new Affirm account will knock your score down, but using what you have and paying it off may get you to 840.

I don't quite understand the “nice try though” part of your comment. Were you trying to give me helpful advice?

At the moment I just needed a delayed that 3 minth payment oponth, they offer and they came recommended by the merchant I was about to do business with. Or are you warning me, that I dodged a bullet?

I think they are suggesting you are not being honest about your credit score and that of a person had a score that high, they could do much better than Affirm.

Check my previous reviews, ABSOLUTELY NO FABRICATIONS about my FICO score(s). If you or they don’t have anything helpful to add; you shouldn’t waste yours and my time commenting.

And again, us who do have elevated FICO scores still could use a 3 month extended period to repay for a purchase. Even millionaires use other people’s money!

Terrible responses for resolution

I loved Affirm at first until I changed my phone number and email address. I have spent the last six months and dozens of phone calls trying to get them to update this info.

I have not had these problems with any other company. Ridiculous!

After making a purchase but before the first payment was due they shut my account off so no payment could be made. In order to restore service they wanted all my private info including my SS number.

This company Service Department is based in Indonesia. I refused. It took several calls and a supervisor to finally make some progress on restoring service. This only happened after mush arguing.

I never did give my SS#, so why did the first few Service Reps demand it??? This company is not to be trusted.

When I called and gave the agent the information I had from both the website and the app, he was very unprofessional, rude, and nasty. Whatever you do, avoid Affirm and ShopPay at all costs.

They do not care about their customers or disabled customers. Agents need more training on how to treat customers with courtesy and respect.

Failed to Give Refund for Returned Defective Item

I purchased a chainsaw from Walmart.com and paid with Affirm. The chainsaw was defective, so I returned it.

However, I had already paid $80 of the $140 owed. I received a $15 refund from Affirm. When I contacted them, I was initially informed that I didn't receive a full refund because Walmart didn't issue a complete refund. After verifying with Walmart and contacting Affirm again, they mentioned they don't refund paid interest.

Hence, they retained $65 for an item that I purchased through them. It was defective, so I returned it!

I had paid ahead to reduce the term, pay off early, and set a favorable review on future purchases. To protect against *** attacks, I mailed my check in; overpaying by about $20 to prepay on account.

I kept getting reminders to pay which were repaid. Weeks passed, the check cleared and AFFIRM said they were refunding my overpayment. More time passes and NO check ever came. No rectified statement, nothing.

Reaching anyone in Customer Satisfaction is a waste of time and temperament - they don't exist other than where English is a 3rd language. I offered several plans all of which were ignored despite promises of acceptance via calls.

For sure never trust anyone with phone name 'Linda' or 'Steve'
Confirmed that Affirmed is beyond dishonest. Use layaway!

My issue has not been resolved yet.

I have been caught up in a run-a-round. Affirm company sent me info that l owe 1,430.89 on a loan from Brinks Security Company.

I only made inquiries with them. I have talked to personnel in billing at Brinks several times. They have no record of me making a purchase or about payments. The last person said perhaps it was a quote.

I am at my wits-end. It seems that the matter could be solved if they just call Brinks Company for themselves.

Technical

Unable to complete application due to photo will not upload. I have had this problem ever since having to change my phone number I have not been able to use affirm even though I am in perfect standing with my loan payments for years and have current purchasing power I er $2000 I am not allowed to use this payment option all because of device technical difficulties.

It isn't fair, it's not right, and there is no one to help resolve the problem. As a result Affirm has lost a good long time customer.

I made a payment to pay off a loan over a week ago and it still tells me I owe three cents. The app wont let me pay this, as it has to be over a dollar amount.

I first contacted customer service regarding this and I get told that it's a policy thing and the three cents will get dropped when my payment processes within 3-5 business days. Cool. I use the chat again and when I brought this up, my chats get continuously dropped after blowing me off with "just keep waiting", including by a supervisor! I am forced to call after customer service refused to transfer me back and I get now told "oh no, you have to wait 5-8 business days."
I like Affirm as a service but customer service is abysmal and appears to enjoy copying and pasting general answers rather than giving human and helpful response.
EDIT: I ended up speaking with a supervisor over the phone and she actually gave me a human answer and said it is indeed 3-5 business days.

She has told me to call tomorrow if it is not processed by today.

It is very sad I had to waste almost an hour and half of my life just to speak to someone who wouldn't give me a generic answer. Do better Affirm!
